How To Add A Shut Down Tile To Windows 8 Start Screen

1. In Windows 8, go to the Desktop.

2. Right click the mouse and select “New -> Shortcut”.

3. Enter in the location field “shutdown /p“. Click “Next”, follow by “Finish”.

4. Right click the newly created icon and select “Pin to Start”.

That’s it. You can now shut down directly from the Start screen now.
