There are many reasons why you want to download your photo from Facebook:

You want to keep a copy of your tagged photos. You don’t have access to Facebook all the times You never know when Facebook will disappear, and bring along your precious photos with them

While there are plenty of applications out there that allow you to download Facebook photos, most of them are not cross-platform compatible and require you to perform an installation. If you are looking for a good handy FB photo downloader that works in all platform and doesn’t require installation, then Pick&Zip is the one you are looking for. Pick&ZIp is a Web app that exists for only one purpose – to allow you to download your FB photos. The usage is simple. First, on the Pick&Zip main page, login to your Facebook account (You will need to enable flash to view the main page).

It will then request for your permission to access your profile. Click Allow.

Once you have given it permission, it will scan your profile and list down your friends list on the left pane. You can click on your friend’s name to view their photos.

To view your pictures, click on the find my pictures button. Your photos will be loaded on the right pane.

You can then select the photos that you want to download, or simply click the “Select All” button to select all photos. Once this is done, click the Review & Download button. You can then review the photos that you have selected and choose to download it on a zip or pdf format.

Personally, I prefer to download the zip format rather than the pdf. The pdf file will crop all your photos in order to fit them in a page width. I much prefer to have the original photos so I can manage it with my Photos Manager. Lastly, for security and privacy purpose, after downloading your photos, if you have no more use for the application, I would advise you to go to your Facebook Application settings and remove the PicknZip from your list of added applications.

Conclusion

As mentioned above, PicknZip only exists for one purpose – to allow you to download Facebook photos, and it has done its jobs well. While it doesn’t comes with plenty of features, the fact that it doesn’t require any installation and it is dead simple to use make it worthwhile to checkout. What do you think?
