On the other hand, maybe you just want to be prepared for the worse, such as your Twitter account getting hacked, compromised or magically deleted. If a social networking account is important to you, it’s always a good idea to have a backup just in case something like this happens. So today, we’ll show you how you can request an archive of your tweets and download your tweets from Twitter.
- Go to Twitter.com, click on the gear icon and go to “Settings.”
- At the bottom of the page, click on the “Request your archive” button. You should see a notice stating that your request has been received; a link will be emailed to you once your archive is ready.
- Within a few minutes (for me it was under a minute) you should get an email with a link to your tweets archive; click on the link and click on the “Download” button on the page where you’re directed. The archive will be downloaded as a zip file; unzip the folder and open index.html to view your tweets. Image Credit: TarikB
