The usage is simple. Create an account with Toggl. The basic account is free and allows up to 5 users. Beyond that, it will cost $5 per user/month. Once you are logged in to Toggl, you will see an input field “What are you working on?” and the Start button. To get started, simply enter a description for your task and click the “Start” button. How difficult can that be?
For more detail, you can also setup Projects, define your own start and end time and add tags. For those who prefer a desktop version, you can also go to its widget page This is how it look like for a desktop app.
They might be simple, but they are very usable. Of course, it would be useless if you are not able to view or export the reports. In Toggl, you can view reports according to projects, user (for multi-users account), weekly or time entries. The export format it currently supported is pdf and csv.
For PRO accounts, you can also integrate with BaseCamp, Freshbooks, ActiveCollab, QuickBooks etc. In short, Toggl is a simple, yet useful web based Time Tracker that you can use. If you are using multiple OSes and need to access your data at all time, Toggl is definitely one app that I would recommend.
